Everybody loves baked beans, and we love how easy they are to make. They love George’s too! Throw some of these together to put out alongside your July 4th goodies, be it grilled beef, pork, chicken or simply hot dogs and burgers. Great with crusty bread for sop’n too! I like to spoon the juicy beans over grilled pork chop or sliced pork tenderloin.
1 pound bacon, cut into 1” pieces, slightly cooked, drippings saved
1 16 ounce can red beans (kidney or pinto), drained
1 16 ounce can white beans (navy or great northern), drained
1 16 ounce can black bean, drained and rinsed
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup George’s Original or Hot Sauce
1/2 cup Georges Special Sauce
1/4 cup honey mustard
1 tablespoon dry mustard
Preheat oven to 400. Throw all this stuff together in 11 x 7 baking. Stir it all together to mix together. Put into oven. After 15 minutes, reduce heat to 325. Continue baking until hot and bubbly and beans get a bit “tender,” about 30 total minutes.
Serve hot but ok for a bit a room temp.
