Quick Spicy Caprese Salad
What You’ll Need!
1/2 cup balsamic reduction (feel free to make your own by reducing balsamic vinegar!)
1/2 cup George’s Hot Sauce
3 ripe tomatoes (we reach for Romas!)
12 ounces fresh mozzarella, thickly sliced or roughly chopped
Large bunch of fresh basil leaves
Olive oil, for drizzling
Large pinch kosher salt
Large pinch freshly ground black pepper3
Let’s Get Mixing!
1. When you are ready to assemble your Caprese, cut your tomatoes into thick slices. Arrange them on a platter, alternating them with the mozzarella slices. Tuck the whole basil leaves in between the tomato and cheese slices.
> Psst.. If you’re tossing this together for a quick appetizer, don’t worry about the fancy arrangement! Roughly chop your Roma tomatoes and toss them with your store-bought mozzarella bites in a large bowl. Add in your roughly chopped (see: hand-torn) fresh basil!
2. Drizzle on your mix of balsamic reduction. Stir in your George’s Hot to your heat preference level. Then drizzle olive oil in a thin stream over the top. Finally, sprinkle on salt and pepper. Enjoy!
